Chicken pickle grilled cheese cut in half with melted cheddar pulling apart

Chicken pickle grilled cheese

The fastest thing you can do with a jar of Chicken Pickle, and the one that wins people over. The oil in the pickle crisps the bread for you, so you barely need butter.

What you need

  • 2 slices of bread
  • A generous handful of grated cheddar
  • 1 heaped teaspoon Chicken Pickle
  • Butter, for the pan

How

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Pile the cheese on the unbuttered side of one slice, then spoon the pickle over it and spread it thin.
  3. Close the sandwich, buttered sides facing out, and press it on a hot tawa on medium heat.
  4. Turn once, about two minutes a side, until the cheese runs and the bread is properly brown. Cut on the diagonal.

One more thing

If you want more heat, use Buffalo Pickle instead and skip the butter entirely.
